One of the great benefits of integrating your Shopify site with Endless Aisles is having access to free product updates. Brands regularly update their images, descriptions, titles, and other information. Luckily, Endless Aisles can manage all of these changes for you!
By default, all Shopify sites will automatically receive updates for all product data. If you wish to adjust these settings, you must update your preferences within the Endless Aisles. In order to do this, go to the Admin Section and click "Shopify Updates." This will bring you to the following screen:
Be sure to read all information at the top of the screen, and then scroll down to find this tool:
Here, you can see your current preferences for receiving updates to Titles, Descriptions, Tags, Types, and Images. If you are a new account, all updates will be set as ON as default. If you've filled out our Push Permissions form in the past, the preferences you sent to us will show up here.
If you wish to make changes, simply click the button that says ON or OFF next to each option. Once your preferences are set how you want them, click the button that says "Update Permissions" to save your changes. You will see a confirmation banner at the top of the screen to show your changes were saved:
We strongly recommend that almost all retailers leave every update ON so you never need to worry about updating data yourself. When in doubt, leave all updates ON.
Some retailers however have specific reasons why they need to manage product data themselves. If you fall under this category, and wish to manually update some of this data yourself, it is very important that you turn those updates to OFF with Endless Aisles. This is the only way to prevent Endless Aisles from overwriting your work.
Please note that it is your responsibility to set your preferences, and Endless Aisles cannot undo a product data sync if you accidentally turn an update from OFF to ON. This tool also has no effect on retail prices, and you must manage this through the Price Control Tool.
